Why is the $85 fee listed separately on your vehicle pricing?

Previously, only the state of California regulated how this fee was displayed. New FTC guidance now requires dealers to list the Document Processing Charge explicitly on all vehicles, so customers see it upfront rather than at the end of the deal. At Reliable, we've always worked hard to provide the most accurate price for every vehicle we sell — since 1969 — and we see this as another way to maintain the trust we've built with our customers. Government-required taxes and fees are exempt from this disclosure and can vary by location.

What's included in the price I see online at Reliable?

The price you see online is the price on your contract. No hidden fees. No surprise markups. No required add-on products. The only items added to the online price at purchase are the $85 Document Processing Charge and government-required taxes and fees (which vary by location). What you see is what you sign.

Do you charge dealer fees?

The only dealer fee we add to your purchase at Reliable is the $85 Document Processing Charge, which is the same flat rate for every vehicle we sell. Government-required fees — registration, title, and sales tax — are separate from dealer fees and vary based on your location and the specifics of your purchase. What coverage levels does the Protection Plan offer?

There are two levels of coverage offered through the Protection Plan: Silver and Platinum. Silver provides basic component coverage, while Platinum covers most mechanical and electrical components on your Buick, GMC, but not all parts are covered. The Protection Plan includes a number of term and mileage options you can choose from.

What is a Disappearing Deductible and how does it work?

The Disappearing Deductible feature provides the ability to waive the $100 deductible when you return to the dealership where you purchased the plan for a repair covered under the plan. If you go to another dealership for a covered repair, you will have to pay the $100 deductible.

How does the Buick, GMC Protection Plan compare to the GM Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Coverage?

The GM Certified Pre-Owned program provides a 12-Month/12,000-Mile (from date of purchase) Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty, whichever comes first, along with 5-Year/100,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty coverage from the new-vehicle in-service date, whichever comes first. Every Certified Pre-Owned vehicle from Buick, GMC comes with a transferable 5-Year/100,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty, plus Roadside Assistance and Courtesy Transportation. The Buick, GMC Protection Plan can begin when the GM Certified Pre-Owned coverage expires (subject to a 30-day and 1,000-mile waiting period), for whatever time and mileage option you choose to purchase.

What is the Commercial-Use Surcharge?

It provides your Protection Plan coverage if you intend to use your Buick, GMC vehicle for work-related purposes such as jobsite activities, delivery of goods, service or repair work, farming, ranching, route work, or snow removal. The Commercial-Use Surcharge is paid at the time of contract purchase.

Does the Protection Plan exclude any uses of Buick, GMC vehicles?

For used Buick, GMC, when does the Protection Plan contract start and end?

Platinum or Silver Protection Plan coverage begins on the contract purchase date unless the contract purchase date is more than 10 days after the vehicle purchase date, then a mandatory waiting period of 30 days and 1,000 miles will apply. The Plan will expire according to the term Months and/or miles chosen (whichever occurs first) and/or when the limits of liability have been reached.

Are there different time and mileage options for new and used vehicles covered under Buick, GMC Platinum Wrap Coverage?

Yes, the term for Platinum Wrap Coverage is based on the vehicle you drive. Ask your F&I Sales Representative for details.
